Thanks Dave I’ll look into that. It definitely has a lot of saturated color in it.

Dave, the reason it is 2048 x 1080 is that it is for a festival and will ultimately be delivered on DCP @ 24fps (not 23.976.) “Scale to fill” seems to blow up the whole picture proportionally.

I think the problem might be on the side of the TVs as Tero suggested. As I said, it is perfect on my tv. I think one of the other tvs I tried it on is over sharpened, which is causing the white outlines/halo. The third tv that I tried only has composite video going from the player to the TV. It was by far the worse situation.

I am curious, however, if there is a filter in AE that will help the situation on TVs that are over sharpened without affecting the animation negatively. Or if I should go back to PS and blur all the edges.

I did an output that was 1920 x 1080 via After Effects (which is where everything was built) and chose MPEG2_DVD using it, but still had the same vertical stretch problem. I think I’ll just stick with the Blu-ray since it seems to work perfectly and my interest in resolving the standard DVD issue is waning. Thank you for your time and ideas. One of the things I love about Creative Cow are the helpfulness of all the experts. Cheers!

    Hi Jeff,
Thanks for your help. The stretching is vertically. I was able to burn a blu-ray without any problem, but I would like to know how to make an SD – DVD. Here are my export setting and two images. The first image is what it should look like. The second image is what it looks like after choosing MPEG2-DVD. Thanks for the help. Ellen

Thank you for your reply. However, when I choose export MPEG-2 DVD from Premiere I get stretching vertically. What can I do?

How do you copy a motion path into a paint stroke?

  • There are no layer effects or adjustment layers.
