Thank you so much for your answer Walter! I’m not extremely tech savvy (just moderately). How do I use ProRes444 with an alpha channel? Right now I’m converting a movie I rendered out in Quicktime via AE and am transcoding it to ProRes444 in Mpeg Streamclip. Is that the correct workflow? Will my client be able to view this file? Thanks so much again for all your help!

    Thank you so much!
Mark would I find the project files and compress them into a deliverable file via DropBox?

    Thank you very much 😉
The video is geared for the web but I’ve had experiences in the past where the videos I’ve created in AE wind up looking grainy in FCP even though I use matching 1080 settings in FCP… I’m not sure why this has happened.

What settings would you use in FCP for a high res video rendered out in AE?

  • You are a genius and you are right 🙂
    Thank you!
I have no idea how I turned my alpha on! Weird…

    Thank you so much again!

    Hey Shane

Thanks so much for your answers & help! I’m out of town and away from my workstation so I can’t double check any of the settings / questions you asked me but I will when I’m back.

    I appreciate all your help!

I hope to finally wrap my head around the whole premise behind sequence settings!

Thank you for the link and for your help on this.

Any idea how to fix this without having to readjust every element in my composition?
    Or am I stuck now?

    Hi Dustin,

    Thanks for your response!

Here’s a link to my video:
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yZJwCawsPcE&feature=channel_video_title
The intro is fine because it’s done in After Effects but after that, the problem of cutting off the top and bottom of the video begins…

I transcoded the footage to h.264… I guess the question then is, what settings should I have my final cut project at in order to make the HD 1280 x 720 files I shot on my Canon 7D and transcoded to Apple Pro Res 422 fit the full screen? And why does my project cut off the top and bottom of the video?

    Thanks again for your help!!
