    Hi Ken,

If you are working with After Effects, you can try rendering your project in After Effects, and using the Multiprocessing setting within After Effects.

While we have a lot of new features planned for the future of ProAnimator, I don’t have any specific details in regards to multithreading at the moment. I will pass along your message to our developers so they are aware of your feedback.

    Thanks!

  • Hi Ken,

It sounds like you are using a Linked Object Style on the cubes that you’ve created.

To break the link, select your object, and go to the “Object Styles” tab. Select the “Swatch” drop down menu, and select the “Unlink Object Style” command. You should now be able to customize the object color without affecting the other objects.

    Hi Bill,

The light setting is as follows. If you don’t have any lights set up in After Effects, you will have a default light set up for your 3D Serpentine objects. Otherwise, 3D Serpentine will react to all the lights that you setup within After Effects.

    Hope this helps.

    Hi Bill,

Are you using the newest version of 3D Serpentine (version 1.0.1)? If not, please download the latest version from our download page listed below:

    https://zaxwerks.com/cgi-bin/download.cgi

If you are using the latest version, you may want to check your video card driver and see if you have the latest version of the driver and download the driver.

September 28, 2009 at 5:19 pm in reply to: problem with material swatch

    Hi Mountaga,

I am not sure what you are referring to when you mentioned that you can not change the RGB values more than 2 characters. If you are clicking the little color box and using the “RGB Sliders” setting, then you can slide the Red, Green, or Blue controls to change the colors. You can also enter numeric values to change the colors.

If you are changing the color for your Material Swatches, you can also use the color wheel or the color sampler tools. In addition, you can also save the precise color you like as a jpeg or photoshop psd file, then importing that as a “texture map” for your object.

If you are still having issues changing your colors, can you please provide a screen shot so I can see what screen you are looking at?

September 25, 2009 at 6:06 pm in reply to: What do I do if my project file is corrupt! Help

    Hi Ken,

Sorry to hear that you are running into File corruption. This is sometimes due to the ProAnimator program, or the ProAnimator Preferences getting corrupted.

Try re-installing the ProAnimator plug-in, and also deleting the ProAnimator Preferences file.

To re-install ProAnimator, delete the ProAnimator folder from your After Effects plug-ins folder, and re-extract the ProAnimator zip file you downloaded. Then, move the extracted ProAnimator file into the Plug-ins folder.

To delete the ProAnimator Preferences file, do the following:

    1. Find the “/Users//Library/Preferences” folder.
    2. Find the “Zaxwerks PA Prefs” file.
    3. Delete the Preferences file.

Let me know if you are still running into any issues.

    Best,
    Edward

September 25, 2009 at 4:49 pm in reply to: Photoshop Invigorator Help with Illustrator Vector

    Hi Beverly,

When using the Live Trace command, Illustrator traces the outline of your design, but also will trace the outline rectangle of the picture. This is when you open up the file in 3D Invigorator, your butterfly is confined in a rectangle. In Illustrator, use the Outline mode “Cmd/Ctrl + Y” and you can see the outlines of Illustrator file. Then, use the “Ungroup” command to separate the pieces of your design. After ungrouping, you should be able to delete the outside rectangle, and your butterfly should open up properly within 3D Invigorator.

September 24, 2009 at 9:32 pm in reply to: Serpentine Issue

    Hi Tony,

3D Serpentine shouldn’t keep the shadows of your other layers from appearing. Have you tried disabling the visibility of the 3D Serpentine layer to see if the the shadow issue is still happening? If you are still seeing the shadow issue after disabling the 3D Serpentine layer, then it might be something else that is causing the issue.

If the issue is related to 3D Serpentine, please send your project file to ed@zaxwerks.com and I’ll take a look at your setup and see what you are running into.

September 23, 2009 at 5:20 pm in reply to: Reflector problem

    Hi Claire,

Please send an e-mail to me at ed@zaxwerks.com

I think I may know what you are running into. You could be running into a compatibility issue with the current version of Reflector and the version of After Effects you are running. Send me an e-mail so I can send you a newer version of Reflector to work with.

    Best,
    Edward
