    Hi Greg,

Would it be possible to post a screen shot (or convert the .wmv to a .mov)? I am unable to open your wmv format.

Also, what version of 3D Reflector and After Effects are you running?

October 19, 2009 at 11:53 pm in reply to: Corrupt Invig Pro file?

    Hi Jim,

Sorry to hear about that you got a corrupted file error message. I have not heard about an issue dealing with the Autosave, but I will take a look and see what is causing the issue.

There are a couple things you can try that could help you out in your situation with the corrupted projects. It is possible that it is 3D Invigorator, the 3D Invigorator preferences, or the material swatches that have gotten corrupted.

Below are the steps you can try:

    1) Re-install 3D Invigorator. If you are opening the project and getting a corrupted file dialog box, this can help.

    2) Deleting the 3D Invigorator Preference file. Go to your “Users > Library > Preferences” folder, and delete the “Zaxwerks Invigorator Prefs” file.

    3) Resetting the Zaxwerks Swatches. Go to the “Documents > Zaxwerks” folder, and delete the “3D Invigorator” folder.

Also, note that it is not good working with After Effects crash files. Even though After Effects gives you an option to save the AFter Effects project during the crash, the crash saved file will be much more prone to future crashes. So, it’s not recommended that you work from the crash file unless you did not save the project at all.

    Hope this helps.

October 19, 2009 at 11:39 pm in reply to: Reflector = Bad Reflections

    Hi Greg,

Looking at your picture, it might not be needed to use a 5000×5000 size floor plane.

What you can do is created a 1000×1000 (or 2000×2000) dark gray/black Solid within After Effects, and apply 3D Reflector to the Solid. This way, with the smaller Solid size, it may cut down on processing time, and also rendering time as well.

From your picture, you may be getting the bad reflection because you have scaled the floor image. It’s also possible that if you used the Replace Footage feature to replace a small image with a big image that has 3D Reflector applied to it, you may also get the effect that you are seeing now. If you are using the Replace Footage feature, you may want to use the “Use Reflections Only” feature from 3D Reflector, and make a duplicate of your floor layer. Delete 3D Reflector from your duplicate, then you can have one layer as the reflection, and one layer as the floor. You will then be able to swap out the floor with any image you like.

For more information on the “Use Reflections Only” feature, you may be interested in our newest video tutorial called “3D Reflector Fancy Reflective Floors”.

October 16, 2009 at 4:44 pm in reply to: Delete a Pose in ProAnimator

    Hi Joel,

If you are working within ProAnimator, you can select any pose you’d like to delete, and press the “Delete” button on your keyboard. If you are working within ProAnimator FX, you will have to hold the “Alt” button, then the “Delete” button. The command will then delete the pose.

In regards to the number of “Undos”, you can go into the ProAnimator Preferences menu to increase the number of “Undos” from “5” to a higher number.

October 8, 2009 at 10:03 pm in reply to: rendering multiple frames simultaneously

    Hi Lee,

I was wondering, what version of 3D Invigorator are you using? If you are not using the latest version (v4.5.1), please download that from our web site:

    https://www.zaxwerks.com/download/

In the latest version, you shouldn’t be experiencing issues with missing frames or objects. An issue that could occur is if you are experiencing flickering texture maps. If this is what you are experiencing, you can fix this issue by creating layer maps within After Effects, and applying the layer map to your objects.

Also, make sure to change the renderer to “Invigorator Renderer”.

Try to render your project out with Multi-Processing again to speed up your render, and let me know if you are still running into any issues.

October 6, 2009 at 7:06 pm in reply to: Reflector 1.50 Crashes CS4

    Hi Brian,

If you disable Nucleo Pro for the Reflector layer, it should stop conflicting with Reflector.

October 5, 2009 at 5:16 pm in reply to: Reflector 1.50 Crashes CS4

    Hi Brian,

Since you’re running into an issue with Reflector and 3D Warps, you may be running into the following issues: If you are using the plug-in “Nucleo Pro”, this plug-in causes a conflict with Reflector, and may cause the program to crash. Or, if you have the After Effects setting to enable “Multi-Processing” you may choose to disable this feature.

If you are still encountering any issues, please contact me at ed@zaxwerks.com

October 1, 2009 at 11:28 pm in reply to: Something weird going on with Invigorator Pro

    Hi Cliff,

Just to check up on if the program is acting up on you, here is what you can test. Create a new Illustrator file, and use the rectangle tool to create a rectangle. Give the rectangle a green (or any obvious color) fill, and no stroke. Then, save the Illustrator file with no compression, and try to open it with 3D Invigorator Pro with the “Use Illustrator Colors” checkbox checked.

If this test works, it may be the Illustrator files you are attempting to open. If you are having problems even with this test Illustrator file, there are two things you can try.

The first setting to check is the “3D Display Style”. This button is the sphere button located right next to the “Object Mode” button right below the scene preview window. If the 3D Display Style is set as the grey ball, then all models will have the default grey color.

The next is to try clearing your 3D Invigorator Preferences file. It may be that your 3D Invigorator preference file has gone corrupted. To delete the preferences file, go to your “Users > Preferences” folder, and delete the “Zaxwerks Invigorator Prefs” file.

Let me know if you are still having any issues.

    Best,
    Edward

October 1, 2009 at 5:38 pm in reply to: problem with material swatch

    Hi Mountaga,

3D Invigorator usually has no issues working with Illustrator CS4 files, especially if you are saving the file with no compression. Double check the files that you are working with so that they have no pixel elements within them. This means no pixel images (such as jpeg, png, gif) placed within Illustrator, no use of pixel effects such as drop shadows, and no text that has not been converted to outlines.

If you are still having issues with your Illustrator files even after checking for pixel elements, you can try saving the Illustrator file back to an older format such as Illustrator 10, or Illustrator 8. This could help you open up the Illustrator files.

    Hope this helps.

    Hi Mountaga,

Thanks for posting the screen shot. While it looks the box is clipping off the values, it looks like it is still accepting 3 numeric values. For example, the “Teinte” looks like it is a value of “160” even though the “0” is being clipped off. You should still be able to enter the right values even though you may not see the full value displayed.

    Hope this helps.

    Best,
    Edward
