Hi Juaquin,
From your descriptions, it sounds like you may be using a low quality Shadow Map. Try going into the Lighting Globals panel and increasing the size of the Shadow Map. After doing this, the shadows should look a lot better.
Hope this helps. If you are still having problems, please send the project file to me at ed@zaxwerks.com and I’ll take a look at what you are running into.

August 1, 2014 at 9:14 pm in reply to: Poor render quality in after effects once output is doneHi Jesse,
Which version of our software are you using and which product is it? Are you using 3D Invigorator PRO or ProAnimator?
One thing you can do is to check the Output panel and see what AntiAlias setting you are using. If you are not using AntiAlias, be sure to set it to 3×3 or higher. If you are using ProAnimator version 8, set the AntiAlias setting to Best and see if that helps.

Hi Mike,
Sorry about the confusion in the earlier reply. Matt is correct, Point Lights do work with the Invigorator Objects. I was thinking about shadow casting using Point Lights, which does not work, so I apologize for the confusion. In any case, if you are still having problems, please send me your project file and I will be happy to get you up and running.

Hi Mike,
Be sure you are working with Spot Lights or Parallel Lights. If you are using Point Lights, then it will not work with the Invigorator objects. Also, be sure you do not have Absolute Colors set to your objects. If you are using Absolute Colors, then your objects will not react to the Comp Lights.
If you’re still having problems, please send the project file to me at ed@zaxwerks.com and I’ll take a look at what you are running into.

Hi Ron,
When installing the plug-in, be sure the install path points to the C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop\Plug-ins folder. If you are installing the plug-in directly to the C:\3D_Invigorator, then Photoshop will not be able to find the plug-in.
Once you have the plug-in installed into the Adobe Photoshop Plug-ins folder, you should be able to find the plug-in in the Filters menu in Photoshop. If you are still running into any problems, please let me know.

Hi Robert,
Currently, you won’t be able to change the material swatches so that they appear in list view or alphabetically in the program. However, one thing you can do is to go to the Documents > Zaxwerks > ProAnimator > Material Swatches folder and delete the _Material Swatches.idx file. Once you do this, the next time you launch ProAnimator, your Material Swatches bin will be sorted in alphabetical order.
Hope this helps. If you have any other questions, please let me know.

Hi Robert,
Sure, to keep the time marker at the same position in the timeline, go into the ProAnimator Preferences window. Then, uncheck the setting for “Enable Time Marker Sync”. Once you turn off this setting, you will be able to adjust the controls without moving the yellow time marker.
Hope this helps. If you have any additional questions, please let me know.

Hi Ted,
I just sent you an email that contains the download links for version 2.0.1. From our records, it seems like you are working with version 2.0.0. Please try downloading version 2.0.1 and see if you are still running into the same rendering issues.
Also, just to let you know, version 3 includes the latest compatibility with After Effects CC and include many exciting, new features such as looping, curtains, drop down banners, 3D flag poles, realistic end caps and flag stands. For more information regarding version 3, visit the link below:

Hi John,
I would recommend first taking a look at tutorials # 47, 48 and 49. These tutorials cover some of the basic techniques of the Object Drawing window, so it will help you understand how to use some of the tools to create the shapes that you need.
Also, one of our newest tutorials, #81 covers techniques on how to create your own custom bevels. Combined with working with lathe objects, these tools will allow you to create a lot of interesting shapes.
Hope this helps. If you have any additional questions, please let me know.

Hi Hans,
Sorry to hear that the program isn’t working with your workflow. We’re definitely wanting to add more features and compatibility to the software so hopefully we’ll be able to add 16-bit support to the plug-in in the near future.
As for working with Invigorator for Photoshop, you can apply Invigorator to a Smart Filter layer if you haven’t done so already. This way, it keeps your Invigorator elements live and you can make changes to the Invigorator elements as well as your Photoshop elements while keeping your Invigorator layer live. This way, you can do the editing that you need without running into problems with the 8-bit image.
Best,
Edward
