August 16, 2012 at 6:46 pm in reply to: Simulating reflectivity in a picture frame with 3D Reflector?Hi Mike,
Since you own 3D Invigorator PRO version 6, you can try setting up the grass frame all within Invigorator. To do this, create a glass material by going into the Material Editor, setting up a glass color and setting the Transparency. Next, add the Glass Refraction and go into the Reflectivity section and add the reflection. There are two ways to go about the reflections. The first is to simply load a Reflectivity Map (an image you want to reflect) and increase the Reflectivity value. The next method is to increase the Ray Trace Reflectivity value. By increasing the Ray Trace Reflectivity value, if you have an object that is close by, you will be able to see the object in the reflection but also see through the glass and see the objects behind the glass.
Hope this helps.

Hi Roger,
When you’re using Comp Lights, keep in mind that you may need to add multiple lights to brighten up the scene. By default, Invigorator uses 3 lights so that is why it will be brighter than if you’ve just set up 1 parallel light in After Effects.

Hi Roger,
The lighting does update if you warp your objects. If you’re still having problems, please send the project file to me and I will take a look at your setup. Thanks.

Hi Michael,
At the moment, we do not have this feature. It’s a good suggestion though, so I will bring this up to our development team as a feature that we can add for the next release.
For now, you can create all the objects that you need, then do a Select All command, change the bevel to the “Basic, Flat Sides” and it will change the bevel for all the objects at once. Hopefully this will speed up the process a little bit.

No problem at all.
I’m glad to hear that you are up and running. Thanks for the update!

Hi Mike,
Thanks for your comments! Both are great products to use in After Effects but we’ve been getting users who have been telling us the same story and we’re really proud of all the work that we’ve put in for both 3D Invigorator PRO and ProAnimator.
As for the price, don’t worry about it. Contact me at ed@zaxwerks.com or give us a call at (626) 309-9102. We’ll work with you on the pricing. I’m glad to hear that you are really enjoying the new features and we hope to hear from you soon.
If you have any additional questions, just let me know and I’ll be happy to help.

Hi Joe,
I looked at your record and it seems like you are using ProAnimator version 5.1.0 on the Mac. If you’re not using version 5.1.0, please send me an e-mail and I can provide the download link to you. My e-mail address is ed@zaxwerks.com.
From your descriptions, it sounds like you are running into a permissions issue with either OSX Lion or Mountain Lion. Below are steps to fix the permissions issue:
Click the “Go” button, hold down the “Option” key on the keyboard and click the “Computer” button. Select your main Hard Drive, go into the “Users > Shared > Zaxwerks” and enable the “Read & Write” permissions for the “Libraries” folder.
Be sure to enable “Read & Write” permissions for everything listed. This may include the “User Account, Wheel, and Everyone”.
If you’re still having problems, the article below contains pictures that may help:

Hi Georgina,
I see, I didn’t realize that was an imported shape. Try going into the Preferences window and increasing the Shadow Map size and see if that helps.
Or if you’re still having problems, please send the project file over and I’ll take a look at what may be causing the issue.
Best,

Hi Georgina,
The lines that you are looking at maybe from the shape that you’re working with. It’s a little hard to tell from the screen shot that you sent. However, the shape may have a spike that is causing the shadows to show up. Try adjusting the SpikeBuster controls and it may resolve the issue you’re running into. Also, if you are working with a transparency map, check the transparency map to see if there is a slim line at the borders of the maps.
If you can’t figure out what’s causing the issue, try sending the project file to me at ed@zaxwerks.com and I’ll take a look and see what’s causing this issue for you.
