Typically, you would create a scene selection menu which automatically creates a bunch of links to all chapters which you could then move around to different menus as needed. However, you can still do it the way you did.
Click on the button to select it. Now in the properties on the right, you can set which video and chapter you wish it to point to.

Use Track Motion to create the PIPs and then use keyframes in track motion to control where the PIP is located at any point in time. You might want to click the link under my name and look at the first 3 issues of my newsletters which deal with creating PIPs in detail.

When you click on a mute button, it will mute “Selected” tracks. Apparently you had both tracks selected before and now you only have a single track selected.

If you have an MSPP package that came with a “Movie Studio” version and you enter the serial number AND register it in Movie Studio, it will also properly work in Vegas Pro 8.

As for your error, it sounds like you’re trying to run it under Tools – Scripting instead of View – Extensions – Excalibur.

Pro 8 DOES have keyframes for the standard text just like 7 does. It’s possible the keyframe timeline is “resized to nothing” and you, therefore, can’t see it. Move the mouse to the bottom of the dialog and as soon as it turns into an up/down arrow, click and drag up to reveal the timeline area.

Turn off “auto ripple” to stop the other video from moving.
Right-click and drag to the timeline and then you can select WHAT you want added (either video or audio if you don’t want both).
