Now that’s just plain silly. My son has a GoPro camera that shoots MP4 files. I can drop them straight onto the Vegas timeline – no issues at all.

Excalibur also has the Stereo Split functionality. Plus there’s a free Stereo Split tool on my website.

Gilles, Excalibur has the “Video Scrapbook” tool built into it that does photo montages. However, all movements are basically random. That’s why I then created the separate Montage Magic plugin which makes the process smarter by adding facial detection and simpler by adding an easy means of adjusting the beginning and ending pan/zoom positions.

Three things:
1. The serial number for the bundled NewBlue effects are included in the Sony packaging. Just get your old packaging out and it will be found there.
2. You will also need to install the older Movie Studio packages in order for these to properly install and operate watermark free.
3. When you move to 64-bit you’ll lose them all again. The retail versions are available in 64-bit but the products bundled with Movie Studio (which is only 32-bit) are only 32-bit.

1. use nested VEG files (see the help file for full details)
2. Right-click the transition and chose Transition – Insert Crossfade. BTW, it’s / on the numeric keypad – not CTRL-/. Even laptops without a separate numeric keypad have this key. You just have to turn on numlock and press the appropriate key that’s mapped to “/”.

Fred, if something from NewBlueFX does not install properly, you should contact Sony to see if they have an updated version of NewBlueFX to see if they can figure out what might have gone wrong in that specific case. I have tons of NewBlue products installed and they’re all working fine in Vegas. But, sometimes, there are some issues that affect a few machines that get resolved.

If you create a SUBCLIP in the trimmer, then you’ll only have the trimmed part of the clip when you add it to the timeline!

If you can’t see the tab for Explorer or Project Media, you can get them back by going to “View” and then picking any window that’s missing.

Excalibur can certanly change the fade type. It will also change the fade length, though. But it can certainly change the fade type of all selected events.
