Just clicking on a different track does not change which track motion window is showing. You have to actually click on the track motion button on the track header in order to look at the other track motion screen.

Either of those options will work. You didn’t state which version of Vegas you’re using. Vegas Movie Studio versions 9 and earlier were limited to 4 video tracks. Vegas Movie Studio 10 is limited to 10 video tracks. Vegas Pro has unlimited video tracks.
The “labels” you see are simply for your convenience. You can put whatever you want on any of the tracks.

Take a look at Excalibur and Ultimate S to see the types of things that can be done via script. It could be as simple as “Select everything on the timeline after the cursor” with a single click or as complicated as adding an entirely new feature to Vegas (such as Multi-cam which was possible with Excalibur in Vegas 4 and finally added to Vegas Pro in a more recent version). My most recent script – Montage Magic – will look at a series of images on the timeline, scan for faces, and automatically add Pan/Crop “Ken Burns” style movement to each one concentrating on the areas where faces were found – totally automatically! That’s something that simply can’t be done without scripting.

Selected tracks will have a darker header. If they were all the same color, they were ALL selected.

No reason to distrust PNG. It works great and supports alpha channels!

You need to have the correct version of Quicktime installed. If the current version does not work, try installing an older version.
