    Hi all,

This is my first post here – I’ve often read your very interesting threads!

I use Vegas mainly for music videos.
I’m quite good at Photoshop, not so at Vegas but I can do what I want :).

There are lots of plugins, tools, scripts, etc., that I love in photoshop.
So, what I want to do is to export tiff pictures from Vegas, batch treat them in photoshop, save them & import them again in Vegas. I made an attempt this afternoon & it worked ok.

In PS, should I export the pictures as tiff or jpg? Does Vegas runs smoother & faster with jpg or tiff files? Or should I convert these images as a video file (which format?) after I have imported them?
I have a not very powerful PC (dual core, 3 Go RAM…).

Also, if I work at 23.976 fps, there may be a sync problem I guess? Should I work at 24fps instead?

    Thanks in advance!

I would use JPG or PNG. Virtually anything is better than TIF.

    Thanks Edward!

Then I could consider render as tiff (uncompressed), & then export from PS to Vegas as jpg (I don’t trust png, maybebecause I don’t understand how this format works!).

Does someone have an answer about the number of fps?

    TIA,

No reason to distrust PNG. It works great and supports alpha channels!

29.9 worked fine for me, can’t imagine why 23.97 would be a problem. Here’s a simple memorial I did this summer with Vegas, PNGs of stills, montage magic, etc…nothing fancy.. MM seemed to be a good inexpensive automation solution to some simple problems of many transitions.
