Are you using Track Motion with the track set to 3D Source Alpha?

Could also be a video driver issue. Make sure the video driver is the newest one.

Yes, those three effects are set to “do nothing” by default but are very commonly used effects which is why they are there by default. You can also remove them and have them gone “by default” as well but they certainly are not hurting anything by being there.

You could hold down the CTRL key and stretch/shrink it to match.

“Smart Upscale” and “Smart Zoom” were replaced by “Upscale” in 19.

Sean, I’ve watched many of your videos along the way. Saw you were headed toward where I live when you were stuck on interstate 24 for about 6 hours because of the fire.
I’ve been using Vegas now for over 20 years. I do see some issues with Vegas Pro 18 where I had whiteouts and had to kill and restart Vegas so I understand the frustration. These were happening anywhere from a couple minutes to 15-20 minutes depending on what I was doing. So I had started pressing CTRL-S often and, actually, slowing down some helped as well.
I have upgraded to VEGAS Pro 19 and it is certainly better on the
lockups I was seeing. Most of mine were actually related to audio even
though I really wasn’t doing much with audio. Just using CTRL-Drag to
speed up several clips would cause the issue to happen.Vegas, to me, is the easiest to use NLE I’ve ever tried and I’ve used several (including some tests with FCPX which made NO sense to me in how to do some really simple things).
After upgrading to Vegas Pro 19, please do update to the latest versions as they come out. There’s been a LOT of stability changes in the later versions that has helped me.
