First thing you can do is make it 655×480 instead. The next thing you can do is make sure it does not have any “fine lines”. For example, it might help to add a very slight blur.

Now, is there a way to make the smoothness default value to 0%?

Unfortunately, no. But if you change the first keyframe to zero before adding the additional keyframes, all the rest will be at 0 when they are added.

I just scan them all at 300dpi.

I just scan them at whatever size they are.

After adding them to the timeline, use Pan/Crop to apply Match Aspect and do any zooming/panning you desire.

You can automate the process using the PBS Wizard in Excalibur or the similar tool in Ultimate S. Here’s a sample video showing how Excalibur 4.2 can automate the process. There was NO manual intervention on these:

On each keyframe, change the “Smoothness” setting to ZERO. The default of 100 will cause it to ease in/out of the keyframes.

Yes there are. ALL hotmail accounts are banned. I had too many bad registrations and 99.5% were from hotmail accounts so I got fed up with it and just banned hotmail. Try again using ANY other account.

Loop can also be found by right-clicking the event and choosing Properties.

As for creating a freeze-frame in the middle of an event, I prefer adding a velocity envelope and going from 100% to 0% on that frame (i.e. on the frame before set a new point at the “current” speed and on the desired frame set a new point to 0%)

Version 4.2 of Excalibur also lets you do a quick freeze frame at the cursor location using a new option in the Velocity Wizard.
