I would have to give that an “it depends”. Exactly what all was part of the AVI file? Were titles part of the file or where they added in DVDA, for example? The title would probably benefit from uncompressed. The standard video probably would not (especially if it was a DV-AVI source).

I think you should render your menus to DV-AVI instead. As soon as you add any buttons/titles/anything else to your menu, it will have to be re-rendered to contain those objects. Therefore your MPEG2 menu is now being re-rendered to a new MPEG2 menu containing the extra objects.

You can create a menu button allowing them to select which audio track they wish to listen to.

Personally, I downloaded it on my DSL connection at work and burned it to a CD instead of attempting on my dialup at home. Do you have a friend with a faster connection? Faster connection at work?

There’s actually several settings which can be applied that make the image better. For a full list, I recommend reading my newsletter issue where I talk about all of those settings. In fact, I recommend using a script which can apply all of the settings, save the snapshot, and then reset the settings back to where you had them before. The link to my newsletters is below my name. Look specifically at vol 1 #5.

Add as Take works equally well when dragging from the media pool or dragging from the Vegas Explorer window. Just pick the single replacment image and right-click and drag to the image to be replaced. You’ll get a menu with several options including the ability to add as a take.
