Opening page of what? Are you talking about on a DVD? If yes, just set the menu end-action to “Loop”.

Is it possible the wireless is only on the left side and only the right side of the DVD player is hooked up? (or the other way around?)
Did you duplicate the wireless signal to both sides? If so, is it possible that you are taking the stereo signal and combining them back to mono and the two are canceling out each other?

The percent should remain at 0% as nothing is being requested from Vegas by another program. Not sure why a file wouldn’t be created.
As for a single still, simply click on the “Save Snapshot” button just above the preview screen (looks like a floppy disk)
To get better quality, you’ll want to change to Best(Full) preview mode and maybe even change the project to progressive. Scripts can help by doing all of the changes for you and then change them all back. Excalibur does this all for you but there are some free scripts for simply doing snapshots.
Vol 1 Issue 5 of my newsletter talks about saving snapshots and also provides the scripting instructions for doing so via a script.

You can always export a series of stills via scripting. However, that will be slower than frameserving.
To get frameserving to work, you start a render to the frameserver. Then you open up another application and “open” that stub file with the other program. Do what you need to do in the other program and Vegas will stream the frames as requested by the other program.

Two ways:
1) Options – Preferences – Editing tab – tell it to automatically crossfade when adding the images to the timeline and the length you wish for the crossfade.
2) Scripts such as the Gap tool in Excalibur or the new free script added in the free scripts section at https://www.jetdv.com. With scripts like Excalibur or Ultimate S, you can also automate panning and zooming of the images. Here’s an example of Excalibur 4.2 automatically panning, zooming, and crossfading.

No, there are no special hardware requirements. It should prepare the DVD just fine (but may, in some instances, require a separate program for burning)

I know of no differences in Pan/Crop between the two versions.

I can say that Excalibur will only affect selected images. I’m not sure how Ultimate S works in regard to this without doing research. Here’s an example using the zooms and pans in Excalibur 4.2a – simply dragged a series of images to the timeline, run Excalibur, and rendered. None of the images were manually adjusted:

Use Advanced Batch Capture to specify the exact same in/out points. Once the new piece is captured, go back to Vegas, find the clip you wish to replace in the Media Pool, right-click it, choose “Replace” and pick the new file you just captured.
