I haven’t done an actual article on it. Here’s the short version:

1) Render everything to DV-AVI (if you use MPEG2, it will be recompressed)
2) Put a marker/chapter point whereever a multi-angle section will begin
3) Use that chapter point to align the alternate angles in the proper sections

You may have to change “SonicFoundry” to “Sony” (i.e. open the script in notepad and manually edit it. It’s been a while since I looked at it) and I strongly recommend you make the first letter a capital letter.

What if you open Pan/Crop, right-click the “F” window, and choose “Match Output Aspect”? There are scripts available that can do that for all clips on the timeline at once.

How are you capturing? Sounds like you are NOT capturing via firewire into a standard DV-AVI file. Can you tell us more about your setup?

Make the letter the LARGEST size. Then use the tools to zoom it OUT. You don’t want to “zoom in” on a SMALL letter. You want to “zoom out” from a LARGE letter – even if you’re zooming in.

I did. You do it in TWO steps.

Step 1: Shorten the events to the desired length.
Step 2: Adjust the overlaps to the desired length.

Because of something I have just discovered, you may actually need to use three steps
Step 2: Change the remaining overlaps to cuts
Step 3: Adjust the overlaps to the desired length

That would be correct. The duration tool simply shortens the events. You then need to run the Gap/Overlap tool to adjust the fade lengths. NOTE: you may need to GAP (i.e. to a cut) before you OVERLAP. However, that should fix you up.

Agree with Peter. Another thing to remember, though, is that the workflow is a little different in Vegas than what you’re used to in Avid/FCP. Yes, this is possible. Take a look at the Beginner’s Corner article in Vol 2 #5 of my newsletters at https://www.jetdv.com which explains how to put video inside letters and different video outside letters. Just add a blur to the video inside the letters and you’re done.

Sounds like the computer is periodically losing the firewire connection. I’ve seen this before with one camera but not another one just like it.
