unwanted border on multimedia
Posted by Michael O’connor on August 15, 2005 at 3:51 pmHey everybody. I am using Vegas 4.0 when I bring film into new project (using firewire from camera to vegas to avi) with project setting at 720 x 480 everything is fine. When I make the settings Multimedia it displays with thin black line at top and bottom of display and thinner line on the right. If I bring it in at 720 x 480 and then at render time I change the properties to Multimedia, the lines again appear. The only way I have been able to cure this is to use Track Motion to increase size of entire clip when mlulti media is used. Ideas? Thanks in advance.

August 15, 2005 at 6:32 pmWOW! Thanks for the tip. That worked to fill the screen just fine, but not sure about the script part…haven’t done any scripting yet…could you give me some pointers on how to do that for the entire project at once? Thanks

August 15, 2005 at 6:38 pmThere’s a free script that will set the Match Aspect for all selected images here:
https://www.ayizwe.net/VegasScripts/You may have to change “SonicFoundry” to “Sony” (i.e. open the script in notepad and manually edit it. It’s been a while since I looked at it) and I strongly recommend you make the first letter a capital letter.

August 16, 2005 at 2:59 amOK Got to the site and copied to notepad. I only see Sony Vegas or Vegas used throughout so we should be ok? Now, being new to this could you give me procedure for applying this or any other script? Thanks.

August 16, 2005 at 1:20 pmSounds like all should be fine. I didn’t remember if it had been updated from Vegas 4 to Vegas 5/6.
Save the file as MatchAspect.js in the following directory
c:\Program Files\Sony\Vegas 6.0\Script MenuNow when you start Vegas 6 and select your images, you can match them all by going to Tools – Scripting – Match Aspect. You can also assign this script to a button on the toolbar or a keypress.

August 20, 2005 at 9:56 pmI have been trying to find where to put the new script file. I followed your suggestion of c:\programfiles\vegas(changing sonyvegas to vegas as I am using 4.0) then\script menu. However there wasn’t a file for Script Menu, or any other file that indicated a place to hold scripts. Have looked with search but can’t seem to find where scripts would be held. Is it because I don’t have any now and need to start a new file? Thanks.
