Could be lots of things. I’m assuming you’re rendering from an edited timeline and not a rendered AVI’s? There are many things that can increase rendering time such as:
Track header “Level” below 100%
3D Track Motion
Various effects
etc…

Vegas 4 was different. Just put the script whereever you want and choose Tools – Scripting – Run Script and browse to that script file. You might want to make your own common folder to hold your scripts. You can also assign up to 10 to keypresses and then assign them to the toolbar.

Does the “Length” of the generated media match the actual length on the timeline?

Make sure you have TWO keyframes: One at the beginning of the scroll and one at the end of the scroll. Set each appropriately.

Actually, FAT32 has a 4 gig file size limit. The 2 gig breaks have to be from somewhere else.

I know that Scenalyzer Live had to be modified so that both Vegas and Premiere could both see the timecode correctly.

How did you capture these files?

Vegas 5 and Vegas 6 have the same basic set of keypresses. Naturally there are a few differences but it’s mainly in the addition of NEW keypresses. Likewise, Vegas 4 is very close but there are some differences as well. For example, all the scripting keys were hard-coded in Vegas 4 and are not in Vegas 5 or 6.

I see no reason why it would be a problem other than when people tell you something is at c:\program files\Sony\Vegas 6.0\Script Menu (for example) then you’ll have to remember to translate it to e:\….. instead.

13 Gig/Hour x 2.5 hours = 32.5 Gig

Yep, sounds normal for DV-AVI.

You can also give the 32.5 gig AVI file to DVDA and let IT determine the proper bitrate for encoding to MPEG2.

Received your e-mail. Here’s the diagnosis:

I loaded it in DVDA 3, substituted my own media, and checked to loop
setting to confirm it did say “Loop” which it does.

I then went to the “Menu Length” setting which was set to “Auto
calculate”. I changed that to Manual and put in 15 seconds as the loop
time (since the clip I added was over 15 seconds long). It did,
indeed, loop at the 15 second point.

It appears the MP3 file is also part of the menu. I’m assuming the MP3
file is LONGER than the video? If yes, there’s your problem. The video
and audio MUST be the same length. Otherwise, the shorter stops until
the longer one finishes – then they BOTH loop.

Two solutions:
1) Make them both the same length
2) Manually set the loop point at 15 seconds (which will cause the
audio to suddenly end).
