Turn OFF scene detection. If you taped WITHOUT stopping and starting the camera, are you capturing to a FAT32 drive which would have a 4Gig file size limit?

height 480 ——————— h 576”The “Bad” clips are being interpreted as PAL instead of NTSC. To solve that problem, start playback of the tape and don’t start capturing until 4 or 5 seconds into the tape. This will get past any “beginning of tape” strangeness.

Is this the Movie Studio version (or whatever name it was at that point in time)? What if you just copy that motor noise and then paste it to the timeline multiple times until it fills the length of the video?

Both Vegas and Vegas Movie Studio are at version 6. As long as it’s the full version, you can definitely do scripting. Jeremy pointed you to Excalibur – the original big script written for Vegas when Vegas 4 added scripting nearly 3 years ago (updated several times since then). I would contact Red Giant and see if they can determine why Magic Bullet did not install correctly. There’s also Red Giant and Magic Bullet forums here as well.

What you’re wanting to do would be extremely difficult. It would be much easier if you still had the original files referenced by those DAR files. Instead, you’ll probably be better off simply starting from scratch unless you can capture and create the same files used by those DAR files. Then you might be able to copy them between projects.
