Yes, Mavericks requires an update to the Wave panel firmware to properly work. This can be found on the Tangent site.

  • Resolve does not support Intel graphics. If your MBP doesn’t also have an AMD or NVIDIA graphics system, it’s not suitable for Resolve use.

  • CUDA 6.5.18 is working with Resolve on multiple Yosemite systems.

It’s true that the Mac System Prefs CUDA window does not show you any available updates, no matter which version is installed. And it says CUDA needs to be updated, no matter which version is installed. That’s why you need to get it from the NVIDIA site and install it manually.

As to why you can’t get it to work, I would say that is related to your 970 card, which the current Yosemite NVIDIA web driver does not list as supported.

  • You need to download CUDA 6.5.18 from the NVIDIA Driver Download site. Then attempt to install it. Then go to System Prefs Security and Privacy when it tells you NVIDIA is not a recognized developer.

October 16, 2014 at 12:10 am in reply to: mxf-DNxHD-delivery

This should work. I just rendered a DNxHD 1080p 36 8 bit file with 4 audio tracks in MXF OP1A format and Resolve sees it properly. I don’t have mxf4mac, so not sure about that.

I repeated the test with your 1080I 220 10 bit selection, and that worked fine as well.

What version of Resolve are you on?

See if you can create a new QPSQL database. This will see if you have PostgreSQL properly running on your system.

If you can’t create a QPSQL database, run the Resolve installer and see if it thinks PostgreSQL is already installed or not. If not, check the PostgreSQL box and install it.

June 18, 2014 at 5:35 pm in reply to: Resolve Live Workflow Question

If you wish to see the Livegrade correction on the video display, you need to have appropriate hardware, setup appropriately.

If you are using an UltraStudio 4K or DeckLink 4K Extreme card, you can use that for simultaneous Livegrade capture and graded output. For that to work, you must be using Desktop Video 10 or higher, and a current Resolve version.

If you don’t have one of the 2 devices above, you can use 2 BMD I/O devices and configure one for “Resolve Live” and one for “capture and playback”. The device configured for “Resolve Live” is where the live feed into Resolve would go. The device configured for “capture and playback” is where your video display would connect.

Whichever way you go, make sure the device(s) are configured properly in the Resolve Preferences / Video I/O and GPU section.

Are you sure the settings in the Data Burn In area are grayed out? You can’t select the checkbox to the left of any of the items? Can you post a screenshot?

Try rebooting your system with the drive connected. It should then have the original volume name, and Resolve should see the files then.

Reading Chapter 1 “Getting Started” of the Resolve V10 colorist manual would be a good place to start. Assuming you are using Resolve V10.
