Minimum Resolve screen resolution is 1680×1050. That is true for V9 and V10. Resolve will not properly work on any 13″ MBP, because Intel HD Graphics is not supported. Plus the screen resolution thing.

March 20, 2014 at 4:50 pm in reply to: cannot get realtime playback with new 2014 MacProTry Resolve 10.1.3 and use the “Use GPU for Red Debayer” setting in Resolve Preferences – Video I/O and GPU area.
Since you are on a new MacPro, make sure you have CUDA 5.5.28 installed before you attempt to run Resolve 10.1.3. If you have updated CUDA to the current 5.5.47, Resolve 10.1.3 will not launch.
Also, if you remove CUDA from a new MacPro system, Resolve 10.1.3 will not launch.
You can get CUDA 5.5.28 from the NVIDIA Driver Download web site. Here is a direct link to the file location:

I see this has already been discovered on the Lift Gamma Gain forum, https://www.liftgammagain.com/forum/index.php?threads/resolve-changes-shortcuts-by-simply-changing-the-project.2585/
But I’ll leave this here, in case someone looks here first.
Original Post:
It would seem that the Project Settings / Editing / Keyboard selection is different for your posted scenarios.
In the top 2 images, regarding Add Version changes, if you have “DaVinci Resolve 10” selected, you get CMD Y. If you select Adobe, Apple or Avid, you get Option Shift A.

Hi Rick, the stills will contain the grade info, and as long as you don’t have any grades doing things that Resolve 9 does not understand, then it should work. Make sure you copy both the still dpx and it’s associated drx file and that they stay together in a common folder.
If you have the opportunity to reinstall Resolve 10 and recreate the crashing, it would be helpful if you run the Resolve CaptureLogs app and send a log file and project export to BMD support, so we can look into the issue.

February 13, 2014 at 7:32 pm in reply to: davinci resolve lite for pc keeps crashing after importYes, upgrade OSX to Mountain Lion or higher. Then Resolve will run.
However, V10 Resolve minimum suggested graphics VRAM is 2GB. You only have 512MB. This MIGHT be enough for some level of HD work. But it’s far below what we recommend, so no guarantees on how well that will work for you.

Resolve installs PostgreSQL the first time you install Resolve on a system. It is set up to automatically run at system startup.
Once in a while on Mac systems, it gets into a mode where it does not start up at system startup. In your Applications folder, you should see a PostgreSQL 8.4 folder. In that folder is a Start, Stop and Restart Server app. Try running Start Server. It will either start, or give you an error message as to why it can’t start. If it starts, it should be fine from then on. If you get an error, it will need to be addressed to enable PostgreSQL to run.

What type of system are you running Resolve on?
The message you see would usually be because PostgreSQL is not running. Or, if you are on a Windows system, access to it could be blocked by a firewall.
Do you currently have ANY working databases? Do you see user icons on the login page when you launch Resolve? If so, is that datbase a Disk database?
V8 projects are not compatible with V10. If you must access a V8 project in V10, you will need to load it and save it in V9.1.6 first.

I’ve been assuming you are using a PostgreSQL database, since you referred to a .backup file. PostgreSQL data is kept in a deep dark secret location that is not user accessible. That’s why you use the Backup, Restore and Optimize database tools to manage this type of database.
The location you refer to on page 729 is for DISK databases. This is an entirely different thing from PostgreSQL databases. Those are stored in user accessible folder structures that can be backed up and moved using standard file management tools like Finder or Explorer.
