The closest I came was in the new updated Import window there is an option for “new bin”. You still have to manually type the name, but it will then import directly into this bin. The time this saves is negligible though.

I am in fact using 2018 (I’m waiting for a new computer on my current job). However, there is another editor on the show, and he is using 2020 and experiencing the same problem still.

  • I don’t know of any “one button” command. I would say the easiest way I’ve found to do it (rather than selecting clips one by one) is to select all tracks except track 1 (lasso everything) and use the “nudge down” feature. I’m not sure what that is by default but you can search for it in keyboard layout. This ensures everything stays in sync and if you continue to do this until everything is on track 1 then you’ll be all set. I’m not sure if you do this already or if you really do grab clips one by one, but this doesn’t take that much time.

    THANKS!

Turned off MPE hardware and that worked like a charm. Any explanation as to why that causes that?

You can also hold shift while scrolling up or down on your mouse. This will achieve essentially the same result.
