  • Importing XML results in double files

I’m working in animation building animatics and we’re working with Premiere importing XMLs from Storyboard Pro. Everything works fine, except when I import the XMLs it will double the brand new jpegs I’ve imported. So there is one set being used in the timeline of the imported XML and then there is a duplicate set not being used anywhere in the project. The duplicate set always has the addition to the name of “.jpg” while the clips being used don’t have this file extension. Both point to the exact same file on our server. Has anyone had any issue related to this? Is there a way to stop it from doing this?

Which version of PPro are you running? Because this was a BIG issue with 2018 and earlier…supposedly fixed in later versions. But yeah, huge pain

I am in fact using 2018 (I’m waiting for a new computer on my current job). However, there is another editor on the show, and he is using 2020 and experiencing the same problem still.

Try highlighting the bin and use the “consolidate duplicates” command. That may work for you.
