sometimes to make it easier to see change the background colour to something bright. Like bright green or pink. Ctrl-Shift-B.

if you render out with an alpha channel it should all be good. For example choose quicktime animation codec. Remember in your output module, channels needs to be set to RGB + Alpha. All good.

You can test your alpha channels by clicking on the little white rectangle at the bottom of the comp window. It is next the the red, green and blue rectangles….

if you have your video file as a quicktime movie or similar it should be easy. Although you should de-interlace any video footage first. C4D doesn’t have any options to interpret fields.

So in the color section of your material chose the quicktime movie as the texture. You should then have an animation option in the material editor. Here you can chose what frame you want to texture to start on, whether or not it should loop, or ping-pong.

cheers for the help. I realise I can link files on the timeline. But I wanted to be able to click on the video clip and view it, with audio, in the source window.

The vision was captured on a Pinnacle Liquid Blue. It made the vision and audio tracks all separate.

If I re-render them out of PPro with DV codec with the audio will I lose a generation of quality?

OR__no plugins

create a new comp. Add black solid comp size. Add white solid. Mask white solid so it is rectagle. Feather X only. Animate mask so white rectangle moves accross screen.

Add to main comp above logo. Try different transfer modes. use alpha matte if need.

Additionally some more effects can add. Like use a displacement map. With another copy of rectangle comp as the source. This way it sort of bulges as the light passes.
