June 11, 2012 at 3:21 pm in reply to: Name some BEST 3rd Party Plugins For Sony Vegas 10@Geoff – The thread you are replying to is about a year old so forgive me if I’m missing you here… You say that you are running the Magic Bullet Suite on a 32bit build of Vegas.. Which version of the suite are you running?
Looks is the only program out of the suite that has currently been ported to a 64bit Vegas work environment. Looks and Mojo are the only two that previously worked in 32bit environment.
So are you running an old version of the Looks & Mojo on the 32bit build?
Personally I am simply making the gradual change to CS5/6. When I need something that can only be delivered via After Effects and a few Magic Bullet plugins, I use it. Otherwise, I still love Vegas 11 with a handful of plugins.

If I am at a conference and a client brings in a laptop with vga out (and nothing else) I can’t tell them to go get a mac.
The main hurdle I’m running up against now is Blackmagic’s definition of YUV, which does NOT seem to be YPbPr. Any thoughts? What YUV signal is it looking for? I am attempting to get VGA to component, rather than HDMI. Screw HDMI and HDCP…

Thank you very kindly. I am JUST NOW beginning to call around about this and I really appreciate the feedback. Way too many brands to avoid…

I was hoping to avoid that. I don’t suppose there is an IN-expensive scan converter option? I’m a small fish. No budget for the $5000 scan converter, atleast right now.

I have absolutely NO interest in spending $5000 on an adapter for the $150 card.
Elendill, did it work? I am still struggling to solve this issue myself. I purchased an Aluratek VGA to DVI/HDMI adapter… Insanely strong in terms of build quality, can’t get anything to my card! If you found a solution then I want to jump on that bandwagon.
Also, if it works for you, what frame rate and resolution are you capturing at?

September 26, 2011 at 2:57 pm in reply to: Multicamera editing with AVCHD footage – how to improve performance…?Yes, I know how to see my CPU. Yes, I am using the latest 64bit build.
You say you haven’t seen any problems editing multicam… Have you edited 4 avchd videos in 1080p, 24fps (GH2’s 24mbps codec is heavier than others) on multicam? The slowdown is not horrendous, but it creeps in here and there.
I did not notice any slowdown until I moved past 3 cameras.

Thank you for the honest feedback. I knew AVCHD was ‘difficult to edit’, but I guess I never really hit the wall until I tried to do a 4-cam-multi edit.
I will get NeoScene and call it a day!
Thank you!

September 26, 2011 at 2:38 am in reply to: Can’t import .mov (Apple ProRes 422) files into Vegas Pro 10Honestly I can’t figure out how they recorded the files. No drag and drop support. I LOOKS like they used iMovie, which would be par for the course since the footage looks horrendous now that I’ve seen it.
Quicktime Pro was able to render it out, but not without problem. I believe it is a file issue on their end.
BUT, even after installing the latest version of Quicktime I still can’t drop anything in Vegas. Very strange.
