April 22, 2011 at 2:42 pm in reply to: Magic Bullet Looks and Sony Vegas 10 (32bit or 64bit)I’m slight confused at this point. After visiting this page: https://www.redgiantsoftware.com/products/all/magic-bullet-looks/updates/ I can see the older versions available for download. So I snag 1.4.1 which supposedly still supported Vegas at that time. The update for 1.4.3 states that Vegas is removed, but 1.4.1 still lists Vegas. HOWEVER, the zip file itself does not contain a folder for Vegas. Does Red Giant have the wrong version up for download, or is it simply missing the Vegas folder?
Or am I missing something…?

April 22, 2011 at 1:52 am in reply to: Name some BEST 3rd Party Plugins For Sony Vegas 10Help me out here… I bought the entire suite (10) which includes Looks, Mojo, so forth. I can download any version I want. Looks, however, is not available for Vegas, even 32bit. What version are you speaking of for Looks?

I completely understand leaving room for the audio stream. I have never had a DVD returned due to compatibility issues but it is possible. I will stick to that number. Thank you again for your help!

You said to limit the “max” to 8000 regardless. How does this relate to the default template within Vegas? That mpeg2 DVDA template has 9,500 at the max. Is that template incorrect?

April 20, 2011 at 1:32 am in reply to: Name some BEST 3rd Party Plugins For Sony Vegas 10Right. Which is a serious problem if you want to use Looks as a plugin. I am editing a 3 different project (promotional film, concert, press conference) all in Vegas. I do NOT want to learn CS5 but when clients are asking for specific looks which I can only attain through Red Giant plugins… I have to go that route at some point. Or Vegas needs to reach out and step it up.

April 20, 2011 at 12:41 am in reply to: Name some BEST 3rd Party Plugins For Sony Vegas 10Magic Bullet plugins do not work for Sony Vegas Pro 10. They only work for the 32bit builds, which means those of us running Vegas on Windows 7 are out of luck. Which is why many of us are switching to Adobe AE for the more serious post-production projects.

Got it! I just installed the bitrate calculator on all of my editing machines. Plan on using it regularly. I guess I’ve never run into an issue (until now) of DVDA seeing a file as an incorrect size. Hope this is not a trend! Hope there is a patch in the works!

Thank you very kindly for your help. My settings (extremely low) were out of desperation after trying to encode this on custom settings which DVDA continually wants to re-encode.
Question, where do you access the ‘safety margin’? “Settings” is a very general phrase. In Vegas Pro 10 there is an entire preferences section with multiple tabs, and I did not see safety margin listed within the mpeg2 encoding settings.
Thank you again. Starting my 3rd 2-pass VBR run of the day… Never had so much trouble with DVDA in my life. Will have to start using that bitrate calculator on a regular basis.

April 14, 2010 at 5:18 pm in reply to: Sony Vegas –> DVD Architect (still recompressing!!!)Actually I just figured out the issue… DVD Architect 4.5 (STUDIO) does not support 24P DVDs. It has to re-encode up to 30frames again to make it ‘compatible’. Yes, I was/am sure that the video files were being re-encoded, and not the menu or audio. Thats what was driving me nuts!
DVD Architect 5 Pro works FLAWLESSLY! No problems! Only one issue… I downloaded a pirated copy of it in order to finish a project that is time sensitive. Being a professional I need to actually purchase the program. I can’t find it anywhere!! Not on ebay, google shopping, nothing. Is this a download only program or is it only bundled with Vegas 9? I am running Vegas 8, have no reason to upgrade, and need to get Architect PRO. I didn’t realize Architect Studio was handicapped when burning 24P DVDs!!
