Vegas has automation tools as well. ProTools doesn’t have anything different, I think we’re miscommunicating as a result of semantics.
Vegas has plugins that provide auto-leveling. So does ProTools. So does Sound Forge. Automation means it’s remembering moves you’ve made to the faders. Auto-leveling means it’s reading the audio levels and doing the volume changes for you to a preset max/min. Normalizing is bringing everything up/down to a pre-determined level, but there are various methods of normalizing (peaks/RMS).Douglas Spotted Eagle

Render as a DV file in Quicktime, or at the least, an MJPEG file in Quicktime.
QT is just a wrapper. Sounds like you rendered an uncompressed file. What was the source format?Douglas Spotted Eagle

You could use normalizing, but you’re better off exporting to Forge for normalizing, IMO.
That’s about it.

DVD camcorders can be MPEG2 or AVCHD (MPEG 4)
I think he’s referring to a camcorder that was used to acquire one of these formats, and then someone converted it to wmv.
Additionally, some folks connect junk cams to the Archos devices and record that way, outputting .wmv.

A-shoot as if you were shooting 24p even though it’s 60i.
B-open a 24p timeline, drop the resultant 60i footage on it.
C-edit.

Drag the preset to the timeline, double click the default text to modify. You cannot apply a preset to existing text.
The lack of a color picker is one of the frustrating aspects of PTT, I agree.
You may find this DVD to be of help to you.

Most anyone on dialup is going to hate you for uploading a 512kpbs stream.
At best of best, they’re doing 100K over dialup, and that’s with managed service. The predominant surveys from Streaming Media show that the average dialup is around 40Kpbs.
Edit/create your stream accordingly. Merely re-encoding a higher-bitrate stream for a lower bitrate stream is rarely enough. It takes additional time and editing to create a quality low-bitrate stream.Douglas Spotted Eagle

MPEG smart-rendering in Vegas is only for 19, 25, 35, and 50Mbps streams, not MPEG ripped from DVDs.
