Gerhardt, I’m on travel and don’t have a Shuttle Pro w/me. I can’t imagine it’s any different, however. I just imported my key settings from Vegas 7 to Vegas Pro 8. I only use the Shuttle Pro on one system now; I prefer the Bella keyboards with the shuttle built in.
regardless, when I return home, I’ll check into it and see what might be occurring.
Have you SAVED the shuttle pro settings in the Shuttle Pro interface? Or are you merely selecting Vegas and choosing “apply?”

Yes, you can create an uncompressed avi file with Vegas, but why would you want to?
I’m getting the idea you’ve got a lot of cooks in the kitchen…the only reasons to export to uncompressed is:
=if you’re going out over SDI
=if you’re compositing and it’s “real” compositing
=if you’re archiving for a higher end system
=if you’re using the uncompressed to generate an SDI-distributed master broadcast stream for Media Pool or similar.Otherwise, I can’t think of any reason to go uncompressed. Based on your earlier questions, “none of the above” seems to apply here.

No delays, because it’s a remote PC. We’re not using the CPU cycles on the client machine, only on the host machine. We don’t pull the media from the host machine, it only resides on the host. The client side is merely a remote terminal. you couldn’t do serious color correcting or anything like that remotely, but the cutting…uses very little power.

I do this fairly regularly with skydiving event videos. Someone shoots and Xfers/captures the vid for me, and I’ll remotely access the vid machine at the dropzone.
There are several methods, gotomypc.com is a good method, as is a dedicated VNC system.Douglas Spotted Eagle

Are you rendering to avi before dropping it into DVD architect? If so, that’s one serious quality loss right there. You want to render to MPEG from Vegas, not from a master AVI created before dropping it into DVDA.
Render at a bitrate that allows for approximately 1.5 hours of content, it should look great, as that’s a fairly high bitrate.Douglas Spotted Eagle

Is your film 14GB as an MPEG for DVD file? Or 14GB as an avi file once you do a render?
What format is it currently in? Getting a 14GB avi file down to 4 GB for DVD distribution, is very easy. Getting a 14GB mpeg file down in size isn’t.Douglas Spotted Eagle

Photoshop Elements can easily stack images like the Picture wall tool.
IMO, you need some kind of photo editing tool to do much video work. Elements is 80% of photoshop, and has some really good assistive tools. For 60.00 or so at Walmart, or downloaded off some sites, you can’t do much better.Douglas Spotted Eagle

1 chip, 3 chip…makes no difference, not really. Not anymore. Those days of “I have a 3chip this or that” meaning the owner had a superior camera….they’re gone. No matter what else one might say is wrong with the RED, the fullsize, single sensor isn’t in that discussion (or shouldn’t be).
