Contour Shuttle Device ver. 2
This is for Douglas Spotted Eagle. In the first excellent Lesson on Sony Vegas, Douglas indicated he liked the subject control device. So… I just received one and I can’t get it to be recognize Vegas 8.0c. In the Shuttle Device Helper Menu. I select Sony Vegas 7, which is the highest level they offer. I cannot APPLY this selection. I can APPLY it in the Control Panel, but when I place the mouse on the Helper Menu Icon, Vegas is not there. It generally defaults to the Global Setting. Therefore, I get no action out of the shuttle.
I am able to press the shuttle buttons when, temporarily in Vegas 7, and I see how they function.
I have a new Dell Precision T3400 with 4GBmemoryQ6600, 2.4GHz 1066, 2X4MN L2, 525W, with XP Pro..

Can anyone else assist me with this problem?

Gerhardt, I’m on travel and don’t have a Shuttle Pro w/me. I can’t imagine it’s any different, however. I just imported my key settings from Vegas 7 to Vegas Pro 8. I only use the Shuttle Pro on one system now; I prefer the Bella keyboards with the shuttle built in.
regardless, when I return home, I’ll check into it and see what might be occurring.
Have you SAVED the shuttle pro settings in the Shuttle Pro interface? Or are you merely selecting Vegas and choosing “apply?”

I shut-off all resident programs and now, after I start Vegas, when I place the mouse on the icon, it says vegas 8.0.exe However, it still won’t work.
I have another earlier, and simpler editing program, and the Shuttle Pro started immediately, and worked.
It’s one of life’s many mysteries…

As you guessed, I am merely selecting Vegas and trying to choose “apply?” I wasn’t aware I can SAVE the shuttle pro settings in the Shuttle Pro interface.
When I get home I’ll give it a try. According to the instructions, once you start the software, the shuttle automatically finds it. This worked with another editing program I tested.
I appreciate your taking time from your busy schedule to try to enlighten a 74-year old Marine (yes…yes… I’m still working “fulltime, Life style, you know).
