If you’re being moderated, you get a quick lil’ notice that says that your account is being moderated, and it’s usually relevant to a change of emails. It’s one of the methods the COW uses to keep bots and people from signing on and spamming the forums. They wanna know you really exist. 🙂

If it’s anything but XDCAM, you can’t. You must first source from the high resolution file and create the low rez proxies around/from that source. This is exactly what a tool like XDCAM Explorer and GearShift do.
But…unless you’re dealing with HDCAM masters or similar, I can’t see any benefit to even wanting this, other than working proxies over the web (which is what XDCAM proxies are often used for).Douglas Spotted Eagle

Vegas likes jpg, tga, and png file formats, and prefers they not be larger than 2000 pixels in any direction. However, if you do have a couple of larger images, it normally is not a deal-breaker, depending on your machine specifications.

none of scenes in the first few moments of that vid are Cookie cutter’d. They’re all masked tracks and track motion/resizes.
You could do it with the Cookie cutter, but it would seem painful to do…

They’d be right. Even within brands, file hierarchy is unique, and file headers are specific to that model/unit.

You’re right, of course, it would be nice. The closest option we have is Render to New, and that acts the same way, except that you can’t split out the components again. You CAN embed the .veg in the rendered file, which allows you to re=open and later edit the finished render, assuming the components are on the HDD>

If you’re working with copyprotected media ripped from a DVD, Vegas won’t import that AC3 file, and often won’t import the video either, depending on how the media is controlled.

Can you export the project to a portable drive and save on another machine? I’m still seeing some memory issues with 8.1. Not sure on the answer to 8c, however. Isn’t shooting ducks in the dark fun sometimes?

Vegas does not capture MPEG2.
If it’s HDV it does.
