problem solved. Render media destination somehow was flagged to a “Recovery Drive”. Not sure how that happens but all is fine now.

No, it’s an older machine with a 500GB HD and I’ve stepped up to a 1TB 7200 for the space. BTW, do you know if the firmware upgrade on the LHe will negatively impact my existing 1.5.1 install on OS 10.6?

Thanks Robert, that’s what I understood but wanted to be sure. My drive arrived today so I’ll be getting it done this weekend. Thanks for your help!

So updating the drivers will keep the card from being backward compatible with the older OS and version?

    Chad,

I’ve looked this am and have v4.0, v4.5, v5.5.2 and v6.0 then a gap through v13 which includes 7.X- 8.2.3.a. I’m not sure where they are. I even dusted off the P6000/w DV card which is laying there.

My copies don’t start up again until 13.X through the current Suites.

I’ll look in some other places but am doubtful….you may search the forum as there were some posts from last fall of some people running some old versions.

    Sorry,

    Doug

Thanks Dave, so considering it’s ProRes422 (not HQ), self contained would be identical ProRes 422 codec? Similarly, if I export a QT ProRes422, there would be no difference other than what QT does to it? I’m not sure what the difference is still unless Self Contained outputs Animation codec or a M100 flavor of uncompressed.

    Any insights?

To be clear, if I export as a “Self Contained” from a program with ProRes 422 footage, it will export what versus as a Quicktime with ProRes 422 selected? This was discussed before and it wasn’t ever stated what the difference was.

    Thanks again for any input.

Thanks Dave, I assume ProRes is as good an option as any then. I’m unsure what encoders, other than Compressor, which isn’t great for low bit rate QT codecs can handle a REF movie from M100. So an output to encode is likely needed. Is ProRes ideal in this regard or H264?
