  • Need to trim a sequence but keep the markers….

Posted by Doug Calhoun on October 21, 2011 at 8:31 pm

I have 80 60 min sequences that have previously been output to compressor for encodes for DVD. We are not outputting for streaming now and I don’t need to include FBI warnings etc. I need to trim the start of the program- about 20 seconds each and rather than moving all my chapter markers, can I nest the sequence into another and shorten it by 20 seconds and export it with markers before encoding. Will the markers show up if it’s nested in another sequence or do I need to edit it down and move my chapters?

Trying to find the fastest most painless handling of this issue and am not FCP fluent. Can I create a “range” in the original FCP sequence for export?

    Any help is appreciated.

Yes, just set in and out points for your desired range, and FCP will export that part of your sequence.
