Right you are Gary! At this point I’d have Ron Lindeboom tell you what you won, but I think the answer would be nothing! So you have my admiration. I used this type of switcher, as a freelancer at the very unique edit suites at Georgia Power back in the early ’90s. Ampex Vistas, Panasonic D-3, ADO 500, and NEC 1″ machines. Not your usual edit suite fare.

Maybe they have come to grips with what not having jumbo frame ethernet support does to their core users…… At any rate, Thank you Apple!

It is the Broadcom BCM7765, the info sheet off of Broadcom’s website, says that it does support jumbo frames. I guess I should have surfed before before I posted. Thanks for your time.

you found the specs on the ethernet controller of the i5/i7 iMacs, that showed that they didn’t do jumbo frames. Is the information on the web somewhere, or do you “know somebody”?

Oh…. Well I’m a little out of touch, I left the Atlanta area almost 5 years ago,

The funny thing is, that the producer I am editing with right now owns his own still photography business. His comments to the threads comments: You might be laughing now, but wait a couple years.

I said “I wonder”, not that I was sure that the collusion was going on. I am sorry if I offended you. But i do remember back in the early 2000’s when FCP was starting to come into it’s own, that some in the established AVID community at the major Atlanta post houses, would say anything to bad mouth FCP!

Is it possible that somebody would write an article like that, in collusion with AViD just for the free press? Paid testimonials happen all the time. Paid product bashing as underhanded as that is, has to be part of the process too. I wonder if that is what is happening here.

Hey Dan,
Why can’t we just go back to CMX, D-2s and the Kaliedescope!
This afternoon I was editing on our movie with my producer, we had to blow as shot up slightly to get rid of the boom holder on the edge of the shot, and I actually started to reach for my ADO, A-51,53,57 GVG whatever joytstick…. and I haven’t touched a linear edit suite since 2005, at Creative Digital in Atlanta.
My producer asked why i laughed at myself, and I took out my A-51 keyboard that I keep as a decoration on my bookshelf, and talked to him about the good Ole’ days back in Atlanta, GA.
Okay so this off topic, but it seemed like a good place to tell it

I just duplicated your situation on my editor (FCP 7 and SL) and was able to change the copied Boris 3D text just fine. You might want to trash your preferences, re-boot your system and try again.
