Another quick question. I finished one of several sessions already and edited it using UltimateS pro to cut in the PP scenes. Can I just do what you suggested with the PP track and then will it change the final edit to reflect that, or is there some other process I need. I will try to do the second session the way you suggested before I edit in the PP slides.

Should have checked further before that last post. I tried rendering that section in 24p and it definitely cleared it up. I will try to render the whole project that way and it looks like that will solve the problem. Thanks so much for you help, John and hope you have a very Merry Christmas!

I’ve never rendered progressive 24p, how do I do that? I need the final output to be standard DVD’s for parents to play on their home DVD players.

Also, I looked at the Gaussian Blur filter and can’t see how to make it just 0.002 in the vertical direction. It wants to go up to 0.10, 0.20, etc.

Just tried that and still looks the same. Also tried checking reduce interlace flicker and no change. Thanks for the suggestion though.

  • Thanks John, I’ll give that a try.

The video that comes from iPad/iPhone is shown as Quicktime Movie (.mov). I have discovered that it is really hard to edit these in Vegas unless you just have a few short clips. I have made several videos using iPad/iPhone video and if you have more than 10 minutes or so of them, Vegas just can’t seem to handle them. I have had to render small sections of the .mov files to AVI files and then load them into Vegas to be able to edit and work with them. It would be nice to just be able to load all those iPad/iPhone files on the timeline and then do your edits and render it to mpeg2 for a DVD, but I always have to render them to AVI first and edit that since too many of the .mov files just crashes Vegas

I always do this….post question before really thinking things out. A big duh! It was formatted as FAT 32 and I just needed to reformat to NTFS. Problem solved.
