Best file format to convert for editing in iMovie for a Mac
I have someone who wants me to capture footage from an 8mm camera and convert it to a format she can copy to her Mac and edit in iMovie. I can capture directly from an 8mm camera and create an AVI file. I’m using Vegas Pro10 and I’m thinking convert the AVI to QuickTime7 (.mov). I’m wondering if I should use the 3 Mbps Video Template? I’m thinking Default (uncompressed) would make a huge file size, right? I need to burn the .mov to a data DVD for her to load in her Mac to work with.
Or…should I render it to a .mp4 file for her iMovie edit project instead of Quicktime? If so, what template? Default?
