David thanks for this advice. I have included a screen print from the .avi file that will be sent. You can see the dimensions and other details. Do you still think that this will load up in FCP easily?
Also I will be sending about 20 gigs of edited video to my client loaded on a seagate FreeAgent Goflex external drive. The claim to fame of these drives is that they say they work seamlessly between MAC and PC.
I once rendered a clip using .mov format for a friend with a mac and burned the DVD. The disc kept stalling and skipping when played on his MAC so I have been hesitant to render my vegas files using the .mov option and thought perhaps that .avi would work better.
Thanks and any more suggestions would be sure helpful!

That makes sense but the only way I know how to import any kind of DVD is through Sony Vegas Movie Maker. Please flesh out the statement –
“rip to your hard drive”. Do you mean with some sort of interface like a camcorder and with an I-link or something? Would appreciate some clarity. Thanks man!Don

Thanks John. Since I have literally never used the pan crop tool for performing a task like this can you kindly tell me if you think it would be best to zoom out on the image after it has been increased 2x or to zoom in. Forgive me if this is going to sound way too elementary a question. Thanks!

Okay this should be the link to the clip I want to pan. I want the horizon to have a nice pan from left to right.
Thanks for all the help

Thanks very much John:
I did have minimal success but it seemed that the zoom then caused the image to lose sharpness and thus kind of defeated the purpose. I wanted to retain a sharp image and a steady pan. I am considering opting for just a short still clip of the intro scene. In case anyone wants to have a stab at creating a pan across the horizon with this clip I have included a copy of it.
thanks for everyones suggestions
cheers!

Hi John:
I believe the noise does go up and down somewhat. I have been told by others though that the bird sound in this clip s so close to the camera noise that its very difficult to separate the two. Please see upthread a bit where I posted a .wav file to be experimented with by willing helpers.
Thanks John!

Thanks for your offer to help Grazie.
Please take a look at the very first screen print I included. You can see by the red arrow specifically where the unwanted noise is. Its not wind (that happens later) its simply camera mechanical whine. In the screen print I show a great place where the noise is isolated. It happens about at the 15.45 – 17.50 second mark.I dont have your email address and assume that I have to access this from a private function here at Cow. My email is: polytelismedia@gmail.com.
thanks very much

PS: More than happy to receive more than one sample of help from anyone that wants to give this one a run.
Thanks!

Thanks Alexy. Is this in conjunction with what John recommended in dealing with my unwanted noise? Or do you try this instead?
Thanks!

thanks John
I noticed that in the file you sent there is an “underwater gurgling” that happens before the cockatoo cries in the clip. I noticed this as well if I clean up the file to make it squeaky clean and totally free from unwanted hum. Any thoughts on this one?
Thanks!
Don
PS: Thanks for the major heads up on .wav files vs. mp3
