  • Peter as I am new to Vegas and having so much fun! (well most of the time anyway) I discovered how to increase the voice track by using switches/normal feature.

Do you know if I can get even more specific like cutting out the sound of the idling safari vehicle and leaving in bird sound etc. in my footage?

    Thanks so much.

PS On my Safari out of 16 people almost everyone except me(Canadian were ozzie) Love ozzies mate friendly and helpful!

    Thanks again!

  • Peter I will be away on holidays for a few days to celebrate thanksgiving but when I get back I will check that out for you.

I have been discussing an other issue with Ed and others. I tried to save my unrendered video footage with all of my text, fades and slowed down special effects etc. to a DVD with a vmf file. I burned the DVD thinking I could save everything and take it to an office comptuer and do some work there.

At the new location on the office computer I faithfully downloaded sony vegas trial version and then opened up the DVD I had saved of my original work/footage. None of the video footage was saved and I was left staring at the skeletal frames of where the video footage should have been although the text media was there.

How does one move their work in an unrendered format to another computer? I am beginning to think this is not possible with sony vegas movie studio…

any suggestions? or how is it done with the big complete version of Vegas?

    Thanks mate!

    Cheers

If I am understanding correctly though these will be the raw unedited clips which will have to be trimmed again or slowed down, sped up edited etc. all over again. If I am reading this correct that would be a great deal of work!

How do other video affecinados back up their work? Surely folks have a method to do so or even move their work to another computer etc.!

    Thanks for your help!

Hi Jeremy… I probably wasnt very specific. I dont want to work from the DVD. I want to take all of my captures and work and put them in a DVD that I can save. Then at will load all of this information back into a fresh new file in Sony Vegas and edit the project or add more footage etc.

In short… I would like all of my work on a DVD so I can work on it later or transport it easily to another computer etc. Surely Vegas has that capability!

    Thanks

  • Thanks Peter! Its wonderful to have things back where they once were and I feel a lot more in control as I have learned to dock and undock and move things around to make the workspace have more of a personal touch to it! What would have taken me days to learn folks on here have helped me to learn instantaneously… this site is a dream come true… thanks heaps mate!

Thanks Jeremy… by tweaking with the media templates I indeed came up with some decent 3D looking starring titles! Thanks so much

Thanks so much Ed! Do you know if virtualdub changes the quality of the original footage and also works seemlessly with Sony Vegas?

    Thanks again

Yes thats exactly what I am using bud… Hopefully no one will make fun of me here for trying to use this as my first video editing software…

What are some of the major advantages of the big version as opposed to what I have? I know there may be many so if you could kindly mention some of the major ones I would be greatful. I am already greatful for the generous help I have found here already…

One of the things I was hoping for by downloading from CD is the option to save files as .veg My files are only available to save in vmf. format. Am I doing something wrong? New guy here as I said and still learning!
