Getting rid of unwanted sound in Vegas
I committed the cardinal sin of using my Sony VX-2100 cam’s built-in microphone when filming. Unfortunately the sound tracks in some of my footage contains camera motor noise etc. I learned (through hours and hours of searching through my clips) to edit these by looking for only crisp and interesting sound files and using these to match video footage.
Now to my question: I have some valuable clips where I dont believe I can match them with other audio files to be replace the audio in them. There is a constant hum kind of like a powerline or tuning fork sound.
Its very important to keep ambient sound as this is an outdoor bird film. Even flies buzzing add to the correct mood of the film. I tried a software called audacity. It did indeed get rid of the unwanted hum but the software seemed to slightly alter the bird calls and the result is that the audio is so squeaky clean it sounds unnatural. Any suggestions if there is another way I can tackle this one?
Thanks very much as always for letting me have access to expert help!
