I believe the noise does go up and down somewhat. I have been told by others though that the bird sound in this clip s so close to the camera noise that its very difficult to separate the two. Please see upthread a bit where I posted a .wav file to be experimented with by willing helpers.
Thanks John!

January 8, 2011 at 3:50 pmJohn – along these same lines – is there functionality within Vegas 10 to capture a “noise print” off the timeline and apply that print for noise reduction? I had this in an older program and really liked it, but don’t want to put that program on my new machine as it is 32-bit only.
If this is not available within Vegas, is it something that can be done with Sound Soap2?

If you have Sony Sound Forge, it comes with Sony Noise Reduction which will take a noise print and apply it to the noise. Sony Noise Reduction works in Vegas Pro 10 32-bit as well. iZotope RX does the same in both 64-bit and 32-bit (but a whole lot better).
