Just a suggestion but I would definitely be using proxys instead of huge hi res stills. Just easier to work.

Looks to me like one of your effects is having a licensing issue and giving you a watermark of some kind. Check every layer.

    Thanks Aharon,
In such a competitive industry it’s great to have people like yourself who are willing to go out of their way to share their knowledge and experience! I appreciate all of the work you have put out there and I wish you and your family the best!

Personally, I think first and foremost your reel speaks for you more than any certification can. But if you’ve got a great reel AND certs then that would tell an employer that not only are you creative, but you know your way around the software pretty well. Making you an efficient, fast worker. You can be as creative as they come but if you let the software kick your butt then deadlines get very tight.
As far as the Avid Certified User Test goes, it’s a bear! Not in the sense that it’s a practical exam that makes sense and will make you a better editor….it’s all memorization of alot of random and trivial things you may never use. (ex. How many levels of undo are there?) I don’t want to sour you on taking the test if you want to but just be prepared. If nothing else you will know more about Media Composer than you will ever need to know, which is not a bad thing.

Is your audio file an mp3? If so try a .wav file.

You can collect files (File-Collect Files) and AE will put everything into a folder for you. Then you could zip the folder and project file. You can also consolidate your project before you collect files to get rid of any footage you haven’t used.

If you are nervous about uninstalling anything a good workaround is to render out in a targa sequence then re-import the targa and render back out in QT. This has worked for me so far and should be fine until apple fixes this problem.
