I am trying to find a video card that will work with both Pre Pro 6 and Vegas 13. CUDA is not good for Vegas 13. The AMD Radeon R9 290x is, but I cant seem to find any conclusive info if leaving Quadro k2000 with CUDA in exchange for the AMD Radeon R9 290x will KILL my adobe performance on PC2 specs below? Or yes it will preform with PP6 somewhat less but still decent??? Or yes and be the same??
    Does anyone one know? Please!!
Looking for a balance between the two programs.
    Thank You

I am thinking to get an R9 290x. but I have a question. If I do about 40% of my work on Pre Pro CS6 and 60% on vegas 13 am I going to see a substantial drop in Pre Pro by leaving Nvidia CUDA? I am thinking to do this on my #2 computer specs below.

[What wasn’t clear in the manual? Which were bad assumptions? I’d like to improve on it if we can.]
    PA2 Manual:
“It also can sit resident in the system tray and wait until you insert a media card and it will automatically read the media card and copy the files to your project folder for you.” Page 5

HOW to get it to sit resident in system tray waiting on my media?
In order for PA2 to launch automatically you will need to ………….?
    AND
In order for it to automatically populate your timeline you will need an appropriate template. If you do not have a template already prepared, you need to skip ahead to: Page 10 “Creating Templates” After creating your template, choose your template and then load PA2 into your system tray and it will automatically open PA2 and then automatically open Vegas and populate your timeline.

Sir John – the Dos for dummies was not sarcasm – I am a teacher and many of the courses I teach I use that
“…….. for Dummies” to introduce new material.
I know you use a MAC now. Part of S Jobs genius (that gets little attention) was not just great hardware and software design – but He understood the need of making HIS Hardware & Software as painlessly as possible for it to be YOUR Hardware and Software – When People found Apple was committed to customers quick integration in Apples world – (because S Jobs made that possible)- the rest is history.

The beginning of the MAC cult, committed customers. He was a JeanYUS! 🙂 I am not speaking of Vasst – but many Software companies today take the approach – Our stuff is so good we trust you buy it from us, then comb the internet to find out how to use it. ……….NOT!
There are Good Ones out there also.
    Thank You

Thank You John – grateful for your help – by the way i have read the manual on this – I think you VASST-ites (those who write manuals) assume an inherent skill level of all who get your software. VASST needs to write as though someone knows nothing about the program. Remember DOS for Dummies 🙂

I will offer one more thing I had to do on my other computer and do not know why it worked but it did – this was from Sony support
They has me create another user account with full admin rights. Then do the install from there and it worked. Do not know why but it did. After install I am still able to use my regular user account like normal.

Thank You John – One more question please- I got PA2 to open and then it does open Vegas 13 but it is (Not auto populating the timeline) it just brings media in to project folder.
Do I have to build a template first?
I am watching Douglas S and his demo seemed to make a demo timeline automatically, maybe it was template he prepared ahead of time?

Thank You Steve – I just found out Sony does not edit in DNxHD and a bit of my work is in Vegas so I will have to go with Cineform. What do you know of Grass Valley HQX avi – someone suggested that?
