I upgraded to Vegas Pro 13, started with the trial version that worked just fine except for a watermark, then got a $150 offer to upgrade to the full functioning version. When installing the full version, it prompted me to uninstall the trial version, which I did.

My problem is that when I start the new full Vegas Pro 13 version, it starts to load and then I get the generic Vegas has stopped working message and it just croaks. I have removed New Blue which came with Vegas Pro. And I just tried a “clean uninstall” (I think) by deleting the left over folder in c:program files and then deleted the Vegas 13 references in the registry. But, after re-installing it does the same thing. It starts to load up and then I get a generic message saying it stopped working and it just won’t start. Would something like cc cleaner or some other program be worth a try? Any other ideas?

Have you tried uninstalling every single plugin available for Vegas
    before the install?

I think the only one I really have is VASST Unltimate Pro S which I have been using all along with my Vegas Pro 11. And when I was using the Vegas Pro13 trial, I didn’t do any changes with VASST or anything else and the trial version worked just fine. It was only after uninstalling the trial and then installing Pro13 full version that I am having this problem.

That’s what im saying, it doesnt matter if Vasst Ultimate
was working fine all along, Uninstall it and all its folders too,
and anything else Vegas related. Do a system clean (you can use
CCleaner, its what i use and its free
). Then give Vegas a go again!

I will offer one more thing I had to do on my other computer and do not know why it worked but it did – this was from Sony support
They has me create another user account with full admin rights. Then do the install from there and it worked. Do not know why but it did. After install I am still able to use my regular user account like normal.
