[Don Cobble] “I am taping with a widescreen TV behind the talent. How do I remove or avoid the flicker in the screen? Please.
Shooting in 1920×1080 30P 29.97”I have found a remedy but, don’t know if I will have other problems rendering. ANY ONE know?
I changed the shutter speed until I found one that eliminated the screen flicker, but the one that work was 40 and I am shooting in 30P? Any unforeseen problems with this? Please
I was told try to stay even FPS 30-60-120 ect for 30P or for 24P 24-48-96 am I headed for trouble?

Sir John,
You said stay in frame rate you shoot in, Thats 1920×1080 30P . That is not an option for me, so???? 24P or 60I
Need to make BR dvds available for people to play in home? Is there a generally standard setting to make that will play, that is most common?
Meaning an average home blu-ray player? Like a safe setting that will play almost on any machine, but still look good? 🙂
M2V?
AVC?
24P?
29.97I?
1920?
1440?
720?
Thank YouPC 1

[John Rofrano] “I would use the Sony MXF | HD422 1920×1080-60i 50 Mbps template unaltered but that’s just me. If your project and footage is progressive, you can certainly change the template to progressive.”
John Thank You! I don’t want to sound like mickey the dunce, but as one poet said – “no question is foolish if you dont know the answer”
(Concerning I or P render) most of my footage are originally 1080 30p from EX1 then composited (due to keying) out with Alfa channel using cineform HDlink High setting. As best I understand I have chosen to render out 1080 30P from cineform, yet when I bring those renders back in to project they show up as I files? Having said that, those CF High clips with alfa are the primary content of my projects.
I rendered out MXF HD422 1920×1080 60I 50Mbps and on then veiwing it I am seeing a little bit of what I think are interlace lines and a very little jagged edges? any Idea why?PC 1

[John Rofrano] “I’m confused because you are talking about Blu-ray and Archive as if Blu-ray was an archive format. Blu-ray is a delivery format and you can use either use the MainConcept MPEG-2 encoder with the Blu-ray templates or use the Sony AVC encoder with the Blu-ray templates. Both will make a video appropriate for Blu-ray disc authoring in DVD Architect.”
Actually Sir John I was confused! I do want a best quality Blu-ray copy of final program that will play in a blu-ray player – BUT what I really was asking is what you suggested:
[John Rofrano] ” If you are looking for a good final render format for a master copy then I would suggest Sony MXF using the HD 422 50Mbps template”
I am going to rendering one now at HD 422 50 – do i want progressive or interlaced? – the goal is to use for other delivery formats
I assume this will not play in a blu-ray? just for hold it in this form?
[John Rofrano] “This is what we use to deliver shows to PBS and is very high quality from which you can create other delivery formats from quite easily.”
Thank You !!!!!

May 14, 2014 at 3:24 am in reply to: Upgarded to Vegas 13 and have somehow created a dramatic delay between video and audioThank You John for responding – I didn’t know if there was something in particular to be cautious of. Unfortunately I updated my Cineform HDlink – All my new blue stuff – Nvidia driver – boris all at the same time, since I was upgrading. and don’t know where to look.
I still have 12 on the machine and it works fine.Could it be that the project I am working in was built in V12? and I just opened it in V13 and tried working in it, could that be a problem?
The only way to view smoothly in V13 is in draft 1/4! That’s like editing with my glasses in the other room!
