I have to agree with Lance on this one Bob.

I know dozens of broadcast shows that used Mojo successfully. And many of them are fond of the Mojo for ingest/viewing and rough assembly workflow. There are feature length docs and film also edited with Mojo.

I think people are disappointed with it because they expect Adrenaline connectivity which Avid never tried to pitch the product as. It was meant to be a mobile solution for editors and producers (remember the laptop in the ads when it was released??).

Anyway a common workaround for the lack of connectivity is to plug in a DSR-1800 via firewire and you got everything you need.

Most editors who as worked on Mojo I know would rather work with Mojo than a XPro software only system. With Mojo you get RT client output esepcially with 24p based project.

Do we need Mojo SDI/XLR ?? SURE!!

Your reassurance is good – so it will be 24 bit/ 48.048 audio while working in 23.976p project type in Avid.

Try opening a new project and open the bin from there. Does it work fine?

Try deleting MC State, Site Settings and Site Attribute files.

Its called responding to the reality Tom. There are a lot of people still using the old version. That is the reality of fast moving technology. Some will be left behind. As a gesture of good customer service Apple should write a simple patch (as already been demonstrated).

Trying to compare 1.25 to 4.5 is a bit silly don’t you think? Sorry, Apple does not have a leg to stand on this. There is no reason for them not to write a patch. They have updated $130 OS even when a newer one is out, I don’t see why they can’t do it with $1000 application.

That is not really his argument. His point is, buying the quad G5 should not mean you have to purchase a new software. I think he wants Apple to add a FCP patch to support PCIe video cards. IMO, it is a valid request.

30 fps- maybe it is saying 29.97 NDF instead of 29.97 DF?

It is typical to record at 29.97 NDF audio TC when working with 24p based images.

Are you sure?
If your import correctly, then your old media will be replaced. So it should be either correct or offline.

Give him a copy of the bins containing the new master clips.
For the music – highlight the offline master clips from his bin and use the Batch Import command.
For new tape based media, same thing – high and use the Batch Capture command.

Your sequence should automatically connect to it.

If it does not, highlight the sequence and the new master clips and invoke the Relink command.

Check the Digital Cut tool – there should be an option for NTSC output.
