will not AMA or import through Avid. I was just hoping that the convoluted and busy file structure Sony uses would finally present some useful and usable information. So manual it is. okay thanks.

hoe much material are we talking about?

doing a hardware pass through something like a Terranex can get a lot done quickly.
If you have just a small amount of material, or a lot of time, I find I can get effectively the same results in Apple Compressor. Either process requires a knowledgeable operator. And if you are cutting in Avid, their timeline frame rate conversion tools should not be ignored.

This is a task that Twixtor should excel at but I find that very few people know how to effectively use this very finicky tool.

There isn’t, that I’ve been able to find, one best program. I use a combination of Apple Compressor, DaVinci Resolve and After Effects. (and every once in a while, Sorenson Squeeze and Adobe Media Encoder). And when it’s easier, Log and Transfer or batch export in FCP 7. Some of these are slow and it’s best to leave a batch running overnight. Resolve has a bit of a learning curve but is surprisingly capable with the inclusion of LUTs and can be quite fast with the proper set up.

  • You don’t need to reinstall applications for a new user. Applications are available to all users. You will lose access to you personal files that are stored in your user folder but you should create and try the user as at lest a test. if that solves the problems, you will need to manually migrate your files over. If that doesn’t solve your problems then it just sounds like another day with CC.

Just curious, why do you shoot 59.94 fps if you only want 23.976?

How much space is left on the drive you are exporting to? Can you try exporting to a different drive?

under the apple menu, select “About This Mac”.
From the window that opens, click on “More Info…”
    This launches the system profiler.
The last item in the initial window, “Hardware Overview’ is the serial number.
Copy this number and go to: https://support.apple.com/specs/
Enter the serial number in the search dialog and it will bring up the specs for that particular system.

Avid provides Unity. A complete, integrated system for sharing media and projects between all Avid products.

For a cheaper but more DIY solution, EditShare.

Surprised no one posted that 4mb is not enough RAM.

Fist, swap just the computer between two systems. If the problem follow the computer you know it’s in there. If it stays in the room then it’s something to do with the fibre/ethernet, external hardware. Try running without the Mojo or a different port on the Fibre switch

If it’s in the computer, swap system drives with another computer. If the problem follows the drive, time for a full reinstall or maybe even a new system drive. If it stays with the computer then its a hardware issue. Start with swapping the fibre card…
