Ok….Now i dont think there is need for such big confusions…its just simple ….generate an edl of each video track with a blck title in the biginning so that when the edl gets imported into smoke and wanna punch it in to smoke time line ..it will go and sit exactly in positions….otherewise there cud be a chance of misplacements…………and then the audio can be exported as aaf or wav from Avid and imported into Smoke…….yes the titles and effects have to be recreated…ofcourse simple tranisitons will be read by edl and feeded to smoke…….and then punch in the audio……thats it…

    Hi,

No u wont have to render the imported files coz while they are getting imported they are converted as OMFI and from that time onwards they are a part of Avid OMFI Mediafiles.

Yeah the DV-NTSC or PAL codec are the same as they are captured on a camera..there will be no deterioration of image quality. And if they are in such codec it wont take much time to import too…..where as some AVI’s wud take some time…..soo u may import any DV STREAM justlike that into avid…………..

And U can buy a cheaper Firewire card with a Via Chipset on it…i dnt think it wud cost u much ……..

    Regards.

    HI,

I dont really think that u can playback in the timeline and export to a tape or anyother devices without the DNA or Mojo With all those effects u will have. Coz all these titles u use hav to rendered when dumping to a tape withrout a mojo and when the DNA is there it takes care of it.So i think U can use the Mojo and take the video out from it and feed it to any device u want and do watever u want. Yeah!

Hey If u are using Meida composer then u have to use the rewind and forward buttons to go to next and previous edits…..U can remap the A,s keys with rewind and forward.

  • Hi,

There is nothing much to worry abt it……When the editor open a new project itself there are formats he can choose….so there he can open it in 24P ….and then the 12p and 48p case…that has to be done in the timeline…there arent any options to open a project in such a frame rate….anyway as a DOP u will be knowing which shot u have shot in such frame rate and once its is recorded in to the Adrenaline u can do a motion effect in the timeline on that particular clip. Yeah further doubts,,welcome….Regards

Ok…now this is to do with the settings in the Display card properties…..as of now i m not so clear..i m not able to recall which option was it..but it was something like this…IN the DISPLAY CARD properties..ie..right click on the desktop clik properties..go to settings..advanced…choose Quadro Properties( if it is quadro or else watever the card is)….xplore the menus..somewhere u will find that it has to xtend the application windows across the second monitor…..it will be done……as far as i know….i will getback with more details as soon as i recall it compltely…for the time being u can play arounf what i said…thankyou

go to device manager and under IEEE-1394….chek if the device is there….if not

    1) try changin ur firewire cable and see…
    2) try using the advc in another system and chek if the device is been recognised…if not then it cud be the prob with advc……

or mostly with ur Pyro…..try conecting someother FW devices ..and if the scene doesnt change then …change ur Pyrocard….
