If there are no Blackmagic presets on your Adobe Custom Settings selection page, it would most probably mean that they were not installed at all. The ideas is you should have FCP and Adobe CS5 installed first prior to Blackmagic’s software. So the presets, can be loaded correctly

Err, Adam was your question answered by Anne?

    That url was quite helpful

  • You can also do that with Fast Color Correction then just before video exits blur it out.

June 25, 2011 at 5:07 pm in reply to: osx or windows?

I think the missing item in this discussion is the advantage of OSX over Windows7. Having used windows and mac for video editing there are things that should be considered.

    1. If you love to fiddle with settings of your OS to make it run well, options galore are available in windows.
    2. If you don’t want to be bothered by viruses, you get OSx (at least for now)
    3. If you love ProRes Files, then you work with OSx

So bottom line here is what is more important to you and your time and your work output.

FYI, both machines have crashed on me already, but it seems a lot less with the OSx.

    Hey Peter,

you can create a custom settings. just fiddle with the new sequence options when you start a new project in PPro.

You will see quicktime as playback option, and from there choose the flavor of codec you prefer

    Enjoy

    Hello Barry,

Actually i am comparing this to the Datavideo switchers that has provision for tally lights. You attach these addons on the mixer, then run the cables to the cameras, and velcro attached the tally light on your camera of choice.

You will need P2CMS software. Choose the one for mac.

    Then make a reboot.

Next attach the firewire cable to the mac. Its ok to use a 400 to 800 converter.

Next switch camera on, then hit the BUTTON to go to MCR mode.

After that click the audio dub button beside the play buttons. This will remove the preview option to view the images that you shot.

Not the most important step is to press the BUTTON again for 2sec.

    the viewfinder will say 1394 device… 1394 disconnect…. 1394 connect….

The P2 cards will be revealed in your desktop.

Use P2CMS to grab the files and transfer to your mac.

The remaining thing to do, and the most most important. HIT the write protect tab on your P2 card right after shooting.

there is a possibility that your footage might get corrupted..

Wow a great package. Please send me pictures of the current state of the equipment at dexterandrada@gmail.com

I would like to see if i can purchase this.

    thanks

  • does it have USB 3.0? what about SATA 6/gb?

You are purchasing a spanking new baby, these components will come into play when you commit to future upgrades.

Also it would be helpful if you tell us on how you will use this. This might suffice for standalone workstations, but if you plan to connect this to a bigger network of computers with shared data your setup is not enough.

Also your choice of monitors, should be able to preview pixel per pixel FULL HD.

and at the same time do you intend to use AJA/Blackmagic cards with this?

    Hope these might help
