Just a follow up to what you asked.

Is there a software to seamlessly transfer the Bin together with the metadata placed on the FCP project and let it be seen properly on Premiere Pro?

XML is best designed to get your edits into premiere pro and back.

I suggest that you start a new CS5 project.

Then import your CS3 project one sequence at a time. CS5 will aks you when importing PPro projects if you want to import the entire project or just sequences.

Next after bringing in one sequence, try to play with it. Render it, playback it, change the sequence settings… etc… And bottomline you have to find it what is the part of your old CS3 project that turned out to be incompatible with CS5.

Its a slow process, but necessary one.

Hey Alex, You didn’t specify what is your complete specs on the post. Anyway, there is a driver issue when you upgrade your Mac into 10.6.7

Well folks, I hate to say it looks like the Apple 10.6.8 broke
the nVidia 4000 for the Mac card support of GPU acceleration in Premiere.

This is one classic advantage of Apple being the manufacturer of the hardware and developer of the software. And in exchange, third party developers are always left behind.

There is a particular update on the SOFTWARE UPDATE of Apple. That basically makes the NVIDIA playback engine and Ppro to perform erratically.

I believe this latest software update made that. I read it on the NVIDA forums that they are working on a fix for that. When i find the link, i will send it here

4 monitors?! That is a killer! What is the video card you are using for the GUI?

The the menus above, along side FILE, EDIT, PROJECT,,… look for WINDOW -> WORKSPACE ->
you can setup AUDIO layout, Color correction, editing, etc…

And more importantly, you can save the layouts so you can jump from one layout to the next.

Basically you have two options
1 Monitor for Timelines + 1 Monitor for FullScreen Preview
or
2 Monitor for TImelines + External I/O HDMI out to preview monitor.

there are more options available, if you have 3 monitors

That is odd, you have a screaming machine there in your possession it should boot up fast and smooth. I suggest that you do the ff:

1. Boot in safe mode
2. Run Disk Utility
3. Verify Permission then Repair then Verify again
4. Reboot
