  • Reference monitor not working with PR?

    Hi everyone,

I’m quite new to adobe premiere pro, i just switched from FCP to CS5.5 because of the “better/faster” RED workflow. But now i see that my reference monitor isnt being recognised. I have a sony PVM-2300 with an Blackmagic HD Extreme 3D, this setup works perfectly with FCP and davinci resolve but not with CS5.5

It would be great if someone could help me out!!

    thanks a lot
    Sebastian

Sounds like you may not be using a Blackmagic sequence setting. Make a new sequence with Blackmagic sequence settings and drop your footage in there – it should show up in your reference monitor then.

But what if you want to see the source monitor on your external monitor?

I’ve got a BlackMagic Decklink 2, it works from the timeline, but unfortunately only in 25i not 25p.

From the source I can’t bring the footage to the external monitor. If I set the player to Adobe, the footage plays in the source viewer, if I set it to Blackmagic I get a black picture in the viewer an no signal on the external monitor.

I like the idea that every sequence got it’s one settings, but there must be a possibility to send footage to the ext. monitor that isn’t in a timeline.

    Thanks for your help!!

Hi Thanks for your reply, but the problem is i cant find any Blackmagic setting for going to my monitor.
Do i need to install something special? i looked on the blackmagic support page but couldnt find anything special.

On my davinci system and fcp it works flawlessly. Any ideas?

    thanks a lot!

If there are no Blackmagic presets on your Adobe Custom Settings selection page, it would most probably mean that they were not installed at all. The ideas is you should have FCP and Adobe CS5 installed first prior to Blackmagic’s software. So the presets, can be loaded correctly
