In a dream world, an adapter/accessory will be available to harness that extra throughput. One that would have an expresscard slot, another firewire 800 or two, and a couple esata ports. Bonus points for HDMI!
If this comes into being, it would also really help out the current port limitations on the iMac!

Shane, I normally take high stock with your opinions or suggestions; in this instance though, that unsolicited suggestion includes re-keyframing about 35 photos and various other elements. Approximately 40% of the piece. 2 hours of additional work. ON THE OTHER HAND, i can nest the whole thing, render, and be done with it.
The question was not whether or not I should nest, but where I was getting the extra frames from once it was nested.
Turns out someone had unchecked the drop frame option at some time on another project, and it’s been carried over to a few other projects using identical sequence settings for a couple months now without notice.

Again, instead of judging me for my work process, how about somebody provide an answer? Not all of us have the luxury of things like up-to-date software, capture cards, or properly configured computers (i.e. more than bare minimum RAM). My workflow, nor the need of why I do this when I need to, is not at question here.
Based on David’s comment, could the interpretation of the long GOP be the culprit?

I’ve used a note taking widget before….i think it was called simple note, or maybe something from iSlayer. Either way, start playing your timeline, open the dashboard, and type away!

As mentioned, I’ve used the default. Too Much Too Soon’s Flashframe+changing the blur and luminence. Various dissolves to white. Keyframing the Bloom filter.
I know, CSI Miami is cheesy (I love how it always seems to be 10 am sunlight coming through the windows). It’s just a good example of the that nice blossomy additive dissolve I’m looking for

Send them to me…I’ll even pay shipping. We’re still using g4’s for editing (aside from my 1 intel mac) and magazine layout, and g3’s for the sales staff. Outdated? yes. Gets the job done….also yes.

I don’t remember if it’s a default on the botton bar or not, but….
Look for a little icon in the upper right corner of the timeline…it should look kinda like a paperclip with some little dashes coming off it. Make sure it clicked on (kinda glowing green). Should take care of the problem. Otherwise there’s a link option on one of the drop down menus, but I don’t know if that’s for sequence or clips (not in front of FCP now). -
I’d go for the DVD. It really is quite simple to do, and gives you flexibility to switch to a tv, portable dvd player, or another laptop. I make dozens of these per year for various clients to display in their booths at sport shows, and really is the simplest way to go.
