  • clips become unlinked when dragged to timeline

Folks, for some reason, when I drag a clip from a bin to the sequence, it is automatically unlinked. I have to select the video and 2 tracks of audio to move it, and I cannot relink the clips (using command L) so that they move, expand, and act in tandem with their audio. Suggestions? Could I have unlinked all the clips by clicking command l when a bin was selected?

I don’t remember if it’s a default on the botton bar or not, but….
Look for a little icon in the upper right corner of the timeline…it should look kinda like a paperclip with some little dashes coming off it. Make sure it clicked on (kinda glowing green). Should take care of the problem. Otherwise there’s a link option on one of the drop down menus, but I don’t know if that’s for sequence or clips (not in front of FCP now).
